The tapestry panel is then vertically mounted on a frame and the cold, purified water flows through at about 3 gallons a minute gradually removing the soot and soiling.
Post cleanse, the panel is treated with a special mixture to ensure that the fibres return (as far as possible) to their original soft, pliable self.
